Why should I use GovPayTT?

The ability to safely and securely pay online from any location with convenience and security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What payment methods are accepted in the Acknowledgement Payment System (APS)?

APS only accepts Credit and Debit cards issued by VISA and MasterCard.

Do I need an account to use GovPayTT?

No you do not. All you need is a valid Visa or MasterCard.

What is the CVV/CVV2 number?

Card Verification Value, CVV or CVV2, is an authentication system established by credit card companies to further efforts toward reducing fraud for internet transactions. The card holder is required to enter the CVV2 number in at transaction time to verify that the card is on hand.The card security code is typically the last three or four digits printed on the signature strip on the back of the card. Are there any additional fees when paying for acknowledgments online?

Yes. There is a convenience fee applicable for online payments through the Acknowledgement Payment System (APS).

What is a convenience fee?

A convenience fee is a charge levied in Trinidad and Tobago dollars (TTD) for the ease of paying for a product or service online.

How is the convenience fee calculated?

The convenience fee = 0.8% of the transaction total + $2.75 for each online payment.
(transaction total = Acknowledgement Total + Convenience Fee)

What happens if I do not wish to pay the convenience fee?

If you do not wish to pay the convenience fee associated with an online payment transaction, you can make a payment via Cash, Linx and Cheques at the IPO office.

Where is the IPO office?

We are currently located at 11-13 Frederick Street, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

How long does my online payment take to be processed?

All transactions take one (1) to three (3) Business days to be processed by the cardholder’s financial institution.

What happens if my Credit or Debit card payment is declined?

The payment will not be processed, and therefore, no payment will be made to the respective billing company. Your funds will therefore remain with your Credit or Debit Card.

How can I confirm that a payment has been made?

The status will be “Paid” in the acknowledgement details and with the options available on the website, you are provided with the option to either save a digital copy of the invoice or e-mail it to your personal email address.

Can I make and confirm a payment if I do not have an email address?

Yes, you have the option to save or print the invoice of the completed transaction

What is my physical proof of payment?

Once an acknowledgement of receipt of payment online has been generated, you may download or print the receipt for your records.

Can I pay for part of the acknowledgement total and pay for the remainder at a later time?

In order to a transaction to be facilitated, the entire payment must be made in full in order to generate an acknowledgement.

Can I still make payments if I do not have a Credit or Debit card?

Yes, you can make cash payments at the cashier department located at our head office located at 11-13 Frederick Street, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Is there a Refund Policy?

There is a Refund Policy, which can be viewed at any time on the website.
