Scope

The Intellectual Property Office of Trinidad and Tobago (IPO) disclaims responsibility of any consequences arising from your access to or use of this website or any links thereof.

Intellectual Property Office Electronic Payments

The Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) outlined below are in effect for all Intellectual Property Office (“IPO”) transactions processed through this website (“Website”) and apply to and govern your access to use of this Website and the service (“Service”) it provides. The IPO provides Service to you subject to the notices, Terms and Conditions set forth in this agreement (the “Agreement”). The terms “we”, “our”, or “us” refer to the Intellectual Property Office, “You” and “Your” may be used to refer to the Payer and “Credit Card” may be used to refer to Visa or MasterCard. By using any of our Service, you will be subject to the rules, guidelines, policies, Terms and Conditions to such Service, and they are incorporated into this Agreement by this reference. Do not use or access the Website or Service if you do not agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility for Service

To be eligible for Service you must be 18 years and over, the holder of a valid Credit Card or Debit Card and either an applying customer or a recognized Agent of a customer.

Payments

IPO provides you with an electronic payment service that allows you to conveniently make payments for intellectual property rights. By inputting your Credit Card or Debit Card information, You are providing IPO with a one-time-only authorization to charge that card to obtain the relevant funds in pursuant to this Agreement. Therefore, it is highly encouraged to ensure that the desired funds to be paid for is accurate, for any transaction of funds will be deemed as such.

Transaction Fee (Convenience Fee)

A transaction fee (“Convenience Fee”) is a charge levied for the privilege of paying for a product or service using an alternative payment, or payment method that is not standard for the merchant. We charge a Convenience Fee for each transaction conducted using our online payment Service. The Convenience Fee is calculated at 0.8% of the transaction total + $2.75 Trinidad and Tobago Dollars (TTD), where the transaction total is the sum of the Acknowledgement total and the Convenience Fee. The Convenience Fee will be disclosed to you prior to making a payment and you will be given the option of not proceeding with the payment transaction if you do not wish to pay the Convenience Fee. However, there are other methods of making payments such as Cash, Linx and Cheques if you do not wish to pay the Convenience Fee. We will only process the transaction if you agree to pay the Convenience Fee. IPO reserves the right to discontinue the Service at any time.

Timing of Payments

Payments made using Your Credit Card or Debit Card will be charged within one (1) to three (3) business days of purchase.

Privacy Policy

We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy which governs the use of information provided to the Intellectual Property Office.

Refund Policy

We encourage you to review our Refund Policy which governs refunds/reversals of acknowledgements paid via the APS.
